I stumbled upon the 7-minute workout in 2013, thanks to a New York Times article. Back then, I was overweight, stressed, and definitely not a gym enthusiast. But I’ve always been a sucker for efficiency and life hacks, and the idea of a science-backed, effective workout in just seven minutes was too irresistible to ignore.
If you are not embarrassed about working out with younger people, I challenge you to go to a 50-minute Barry's Bootcamp session. It is HIIT on Steroids!! They have one in Palo Alto, Burlingame, and multiple in downtown SF.
If you decide to go, work your way up to 13-14-15 on the treadmill. HIIT is highly efficient, speeds up metabolism, and has numerous health benefits.
Sadly, I'm not at this level (yet?!); still prefer free and short - but I have moved to walking across the park to exercise, 100x further than my bedroom 😂
Short and sweet is the best. There's a 10-minute test I do every 6 months to assess my fitness. 100 burpees as fast as you can. Under 10 minutes is great.
I am curious about this work out! It is funny though how a little compounding goes a long way. Also, your screenshots of AI is one of the best ways I’ve seen someone share that they’ve used AI to help write their essay. It’s funny because I can see how the whole essay is there in what you said to Chat!
Wow, Michelle you totally nailed what I was thinking in the background: small loops of “little compounding goes a long way”. Chat (love how everyone is truncating it nowadays) isn’t the best gym partner like you, but I’ll take it!
haha in this case it may not be bantering as well, but you're already writing the good stuff and it's helping ease the process which I think is a perfect usage of AI in writing
I needed this today! I've just restarted home workout for the first time in a long time and I love this reminder! While I was traveling in May, I stumbled across an old book I'd read about the Seven Minute Wonder- a yoga teacher asking his students whether they could sustain a daily 20mn practice. No? 15? No? 10?...and then landed on 7 as the length 100% of his students could sustain. 7 is the irresistable number, indeed!
Ooh I love the serendipity! 7 does seem like a magic number - isn't 7 a really significant number in Buddhism?
Even though the entire 7-minute workout actually takes over 8 minutes (because of 10 sec rests in between each 30 second workout), I think it was quite genius to name it the 7 minute workout

"Nobody's ever ready before they are."

ya, helping ease the process is exactly what I look to use it more for!
